Lisa Whitecrow is a tenured employee with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), beginning her professional child welfare journey in 1994. Her educational background includes attending California State University, Northridge where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and then earned a Master’s degree in Marriage, Family, Child Therapy from California Family Study Center (now known as Phillips Graduate Institute). She has held a significant amount of roles while working for DCFS, including being a Children’s Social Worker, Supervising Children’s Social Worker, Assistant Regional Administrator, and her most current role, as a Regional Administrator of the Lancaster office for the past five years. With her specialty focus being in regional work and line operations, she has extensive experience in Emergency Response, Dependency Investigations, and Continuing Services, including being a Training Supervisor in each of those service areas. During her almost 30 year career with DCFS, she has served the West Los Angeles, North Hollywood (now Van Nuys), Santa Clarita and Lancaster offices.
Lisa has a passion for working with people, building strong and cohesive teams, and for raising the bar for higher standards within child welfare. She has limitless energy and a strong commitment to better outcomes for children and families, especially in the Antelope Valley. Her deep understanding of addressing community challenges, partnering with external stakeholders and building multi-disciplinary teams through relationships, serves to ensure that the public we serve has access to resources that can truly enrich their lives.
