There has not been a threat this egregious to the health and well-being of women in 50 years. With rising maternal mortality rates and deep inequities by race and income, our country is already failing to ensure quality maternal health care, supports and services. The leaked draft U.S. Supreme Court opinion will put the lives of birthing people at risk, compounding the already existing inequities in our systems of care for families.  The consequences of such a ruling would be far reaching, not just for women but for all who believe in the right to choose – to make their own decisions to protect their mental, emotional, and physical health.  We must all raise our voices and be heard.
