Terry Ogawa’s career in children’s services has bridged a variety of experiences. She currently works as an independent consultant focused on policies impacting young children and their families, specifically in the fields of early care and education and social welfare. She has served as the Executive Director of the City of Los Angeles’ Commission for Children, Youth and Their Families, and as the Director of Child Care for the City of Los Angeles. Ms. Ogawa also served as the Executive Director of Connections for Children, a child care resource and referral agency serving families in the Westside and South Bay areas of Los Angeles. She is a member of the Board of Directors for St. Anne’s and the University of Southern California’s School for Early Childhood Education.
Terry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology from UCSB and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology and Early Childhood Education from CSUN. She is married to Dr. Mark Taira and has two daughters, Jenna and Sara.
