January 15: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

February 19: Presidents’ Day
March 11: Daylight Saving Time begins. Check your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector and change the batteries.
March 26–30: Spring Recess (LAUSD)
April 2: Cesar Chavez’s birthday observed

June 7: Last day of school, LAUSD Schools
July: Children ages 4–6 need immunizations to attend school in L.A. County, so now is the time to be sure you are up to date. To learn more, visit shotsforschool.org/k-12/.
August: Check with your local police department to get a Safety ID card (and other services, such as fingerprinting) that can help protect your child.
