Free COVID-19 Tests for All LA County Residents
All residents of Los Angeles County can now receive a free COVID-19 test, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has announced. People who have symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness or breath, and certain front-line workers will be given priority for same or next-day testing. Tests will take place at dozens of centers throughout the county and city, and are available by appointment only.
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Los Angeles county continues to grow rapidly, recently reaching a record daily high. The county now has a total of about 22,500 confirmed cases, nearly half of all cases in California. Widely-available testing can help track the spread of the disease and determine when it is safe to change stay-at-home orders.
