Multigenerational Parenting

Multigenerational Parenting is on the rise: Twice as many children are being raised by grandparents as in the 1970s. Today, about 10 percent of children live with grandparents and an estimated 2.6 million grandparents are primary caregivers. While multigenerational parenting has its unique challenges, “kincare” also offers tremendous benefits. Studies show that a strong, ongoing connection between grandparents and grandchildren improves physical and mental health for both generations.
