Learning Continues During COVID-19 School Closing

While COVID-19 has closed preschools and elementary schools, your child’s learning can — and should — continue at home. And whether you have WiFi access or not, opportunities for your child to learn and grow abound, despite current challenges. Here are some programs to explore:

  • PBS and KCLS are offering free, educational television and online programs for PreK and older students. Based on California state standards and created by PBS SoCal/KCET and the LAUSD, these programs are for all students at home, regardless of access to the internet or computers. Comcast will offer free Internet during COVID-19 crisis

  • Comcast will be making Xfinity Wi-Fi Network free nationwide, offering unlimited data for free, ending disconnections and late fees
  • These changes will help low income households remain connected to the Internet, which is particularly important as children learn remotely during school closures and families need access to health care resources
