60 LAUSD “Grab & Go” Food Centers to Open

With school closures due to COVID-19, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) will open 60 “grab & go” food centers throughout L.A. County by Wednesday, March 18th.

Previously, LAUSD had planned to open 40 Family Resource Centers at designated schools. Citing concerns about the risk of COVID-19 spread, LAUSD decided to halt the opening of family resource centers and replace them with food centers where families can simply take food to go.

Other school districts throughout LA County are implementing similar services including Long Beach, Compton, and Pasadena.
