“If you want something, you have to ask politely” is a lesson parents tell us they teach their children.

This same advice applies to our collective efforts to make things
work better for children and families in L.A. County. First 5 LA
believes parents are a child’s first teacher, and best advocate.

We want parents to learn about the issues that impact children,
to help guide our work to improve the lives of children ages 0-5. Asking
is advocacy – from the pediatrician’s office to the ballot box on
Election Day. Standing up for your child’s needs helps us all.
