Findings from the ABCD Screening Academy
In July 2007, recognizing the opportunity to improve the delivery of developmental services teams from 19 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia came together to form the Assuring Better Child Health and Development (ABCD) Screening Academy. The 21 Screening Academy members1 worked intensively for a 14-month period to identify and implement the policy and practice improvements necessary to move the use of standardized screening tools as part of well-child care from a ‘best practice’ to a ‘standard of practice.’
