Tooth decay is the single most common chronic disease of childhood. It occurs five to eight times more frequently than asthma, the second most common chronic disease in children. Left untreated, tooth decay in children can lead to pain, infection, and tooth loss. It can also result in more serious consequences - such as infections in their ears, sinuses, and other parts of their body.First 5 LA's Oral Health and Nutrition Expansion & Enhancement Project aims to address these issues for children ages of 0-5 through the following methods:
