We're adding popup windows to each of the buttons above, providing you with more details. For example, click on the "parent-child bonding" button to learn about our investment in the Baby-Friendly Hospital program. Click on the "$130,472,079 in grants" button to see a breakdown of our investments. We expect to have all seven popup windows completed by the end of September.

Welcome to First 5 LA's Change Dashboard 1.0
March 8, 2012

We've designed this tool to help you understand how we spend our funds, and how children and families benefit. What you see here is just the beginning. Our goal is to update this Change Dashboard regularly with new data about First 5 LA and about the children and families we serve.

Take a closer look at the numbers you see here. If you click on the button that reads "Provided preschool for 10,911 children through LA Universal Preschool," a window will pop up with more details about LAUP. Later this year, each button will have its own popup window with more details.

By the end of 2012, we'll post more even data and more details. Next year we will change some of these buttons. Over time, we'll provide more interactive tools and data visualizations. We hope to update the Change Dashboard quarterly, so you'll always learn something new about First 5 LA.

A lot of complex data collection and analysis takes place behind the scenes, in order to present this information to you. We're always working to do a better job of gathering good information from grantees, contractors and our partners, and to find the best way to share it with you.

If you have ideas about what you'd like to see on this Change Dashboard or how we can improve it, please drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you.
