VIDEO: The Welcome Baby program in the Antelope Valley

First 5 LA aims to strengthen families and improve outcomes for the greatest number of children prenatal to age 5 in L.A. County. We know that when parents and caregivers have the know-how and the support to help in their child’s development, they are able to create nurturing environments and stable relationships with their children. Since 2013, First 5 LA has partnered with the Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) to implement the Welcome Baby program. A gathering of local elected officials, First 5 LA leadership and AVPH staff and clients highlighted the importance of supporting parents at the earliest stage possible in their child’s development. AVPH has served over 1,500 mothers to date and continues to provide critical support to parents.
