Splash-It-Up Aquatic Safety Project
The Splash-It-Up Project aims to improve aquatic safety for children ages 6 months to 5 years old at YMCA sites in Long Beach, Bellflower, and Lakewood (SPA 7 & 8). The project provides financial assistance to low-income families, parent-child swim classes that teach aquatic safety including CPR, healthy lifestyles, and parenting tips while parents interact with their children (6 months to 3 years old) in the water, Preschool Aquatic Safety swim classes, and Splash Week, a one week introduction to aquatic safety and readiness skills, and swim lessons for children 6 months to 3 years (with parents in attendance) and 3-5 year of age.
