The division provides adult education, immigration services, and job training programs for residents of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). Contact Information: 7850 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90046 http://westside.adultinstruction.org/ Funding For: Shenandoah Family Literacy Center The Shenandoah Family Literacy program (SPA 4) follows the Kenan Model as promoted by the National Center for Family Literacy, by providing for the integration of early childhood education, parent education, and adult education with a unified focus on family literacy. Parents attend a center-based program with their young children four days a week. They participate in adult education classes approximately seven hours a week while their three-to-five year olds or toddlers attend a toddler or pre-school program. In addition, parents attend a parent education/parent support group classes, which is offered two hours each week. |
