California Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91105 http://www.huntingtonhospital.com Funding For: NICU Developmental Intervention Program The Developmental Intervention Program serves premature and critically ill infants admitted to Huntington Memorial Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The project will enhance developmental outcomes, reduce potential health problems and developmental delays related to prematurity and life-threatening illness, and improve parents' ability to nurture their high-risk newborn. The project will (1) modify the care environment in our NICU to improve developmental outcomes; (2) provide training for staff to assess each infant's developmental needs and intervene as needed to promote optimal development; and (3) educate parents and provide in-home follow-up services to promote each infant's smooth transition from hospital to home and ensure developmental progress is regularly assessed and any needed interventions provided promptly. The service are for the project is the Greater San Gabriel Valley, SPA 3. The project is funded for five (5) years. |
