Olive St. Los Angeles, CA 90015 http://www.pedcenter.org Funding For: Parent Child Home Program The Parent Child Home Program (PCHP), a project of Eisner Pediatric and Family Medical Center, is a national model for home-based literacy and parenting. The program will target children and their families in SPA 4 and 6. Trained home visitors visit families of 2 and 3 year old children twice per week for 30 weeks over a 2 year period. Activities involve using toys and books to model parent-child interactions such as reading and educational play to promote language development and age appropriate development. Toys and books remain in the home to ensure the continuation of the verbal interaction and reading after the family has completed the program. In addition, parenting skill classes are offered to all participating families. |
