This agency provides business services in support of those who wish to provide licensed child care in their homes within the service area, and child care information and referral. Anyone is eligible for information about child care resources located in South Central, Southwest Los Angeles, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood and Lawndale. 1 323-421-1029

Funding For: Child Care Provider Accreditation Support Project (AKA SPAN)
The long-term outcome for the Child Care Provider Accreditation Support project is to improve the social and intellectual development of children in childcare ages birth to 5 years by improving the quality of available child care. The project will target childcare providers in SPA 6 (primary) and SPAs 4, 5, 7, and 8 to increase awareness of what constitutes quality childcare, increase number of accredited in the target area and improve the quality of the childcare services of the participating childcare providers through the implementation of childcare provider self-study process to identify plans for improvement and provision of NAEYC membership fee coverage. Project activities include: educational workshops and conferences, technical assistance, mentoring and financial support to cover costs of the memberships, mentors, application for the self-study packets, observer/validator visit and any necessary improvements. The project is funded for five years. |
