The agency provides child abuse services, child care, family support services, foster care services, mental health services, substance abuse services and welfare-to-work support services for people of all ages and their families in Los Angeles County. Services are offered at two locations (see site list for details.) Age restrictions apply for some services; there are no geographic restrictions. Contact Information: 711 S. New Hampshire Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90005 http://www.childrensinstitute.org Funding For: Rosemont-Union School Readiness Project The Rosemont Union School Readiness Projects serves Wilshire/Westlake (90057) and Echo Park (90026). Major program activities include: training for unlicensed child care providers to move them towards licensure, linkage to existing early childhood education programs, Motheread/Fatheread Family Literacy Program, Health insurance linkage and enrollment, Adult education including GED Completion, ESL, and vocational education, parallel children's groups, and Ready for School Transition Program at the 2 partner elementary schools. |
