The major program activities are the Central Library librarian will read to children in SRLDP and EEC classrooms and provide Read To Me backpacks and children in the community will receive early learning kits with training for their parents on how to use, teachers, early care providers and parents will receive training on children's developmental milestones and how to do early screenings, a year-long series of Beginning ESL classes will be held, and will include child care for parents, immunizations, physical exams, and lead screenings for children will be provided on-site twice per year, on-site dental screenings and education for children will take place once per year, and an ongoing "Helping Your Child Succeed in School" class will be provided for parents to promote their understanding of schools and parental involvement. Teachers and early care providers will participate in cross-articulation meetings. « Back to LAUSD |
