Major program activities include: hold an annual Learning Resource Fair to provide information and linkages to early learning resources for children ages 0-5 and their families, increase the number of parents and children engaged together in early learning activities by providing Child-Parent Cooperative class at the center, increase the number of children and families with health insurance by providing information for parents to help them understand and navigate eligibility requirements for services, provide on-site mobile health screenings, refer to services and provide assistance with access (e.g., translation) as needed, increase common understandings between parents, teachers and early care providers about preparing children for school by creating and distributing standardized school readiness information in English and Spanish and empower more parents to support one other, make decisions about community priorities and become involved as community and RFS leaders by developing a Parent Leadership Cadre. « Back to LAUSD |
