Major program activities include: Family Home Child Care for Provider and Children, a 30-hour training course for DPSS-paid family providers who care for GAIN/CALWorks mothers' children while they attend job training; Child Day Care Worker/Early Childhood Assistant, a 300 hour career training class, 3 different parent-child interactive classes: Parenting the Infant; Parenting the Toddler and Parenting the Preschooler to assist parents in building their skills, Cudahy Community RFS will work with St. Francis Medical Center to hire a full-time Health and Social Services Benefits Specialist. This is a pilot program in collaboration with WIC and DPSS through which families will be simultaneously enrolled in a health insurance plan appropriate to their situation, as well as to social services for which they are eligible, such as WIC, a new 12-session course three times per year on kindergarten readiness for these families, called Caring for Young Children and in order to address the community's expressed concern that it is difficult to obtain comprehensive information about programs serving children 0-5, Cudahy Community RFS will convene community agencies to create a knowledge ecosystem in the local community. « Back to LAUSD |
