Valley Trauma Center Annual Children’s Safety Fair

The Valley Trauma Counseling Center (VTCC) along with the San Clarita and Santa Fernando Valley Child Abuse Prevention Council will be hosting a children's safety fair for the Santa Clarita Valley Community.  The VTCC mission statement includes the development of healthy individuals and families through healing, empowerment, and increased public awareness including intervention, treatment services and community outreach to promote social change. The purpose of this fair is to provide information for English and Spanish speaking community members on safety issues such as, but not limited to, accidental poisoning, dental care, bicycle helmet safety, children's car seat safety, pool safety, low-cost medical insurance for children & families, nutrition and meal planning, fire safety, healthy relationships, mental health, domestic violence and child abuse prevention.  A few of the awareness programs that will be represented are adoption promotion services for foster care families, family support services, and issues concerning early intervention and special education services for families with children. Additionally, there will be a free moon bounce for the children, games, clowns, raffle prizes, free snow cones, free lunches, and a variety of local children's entertainment on the program.
