The Impact of Migration: Working with Latino Immigrant Families
Project ABC is proud to present this half-day workshop by Chela Rios Munoz, LCSW and Margie Gutierrez-Padilla, LCSW. An overview of the experience of immigrant families with a particular focus on families with young children. A model will be presented that describes the process of migration and its impact on families. Although the model is applicable to persons of all racial/ethnic groups who have experienced a migration, the focus of the presentation will be on the experience of Latino families in California. The model presented will include treatment considerations when working with Latino immigrant families. Clinical cases will be used to illustrate the model.
