Son de Madera & Nati Cano's Mariachi Los Camperos

Veracruz, Mexico-based Son de Madera is one of the leading voices of son jarocho - traditional music and dance from the country's coastal region. The music is propelled by call and response songs from the African and Creole influence of the Caribbean. NEA Folk Arts Heritage Award winner Nati Cano is a traditionalist and visionary who has both mirrored and shaped the history of mariachi music. His Mariachi Los Camperos has been a driving force in North America for more than 40 years. First 5 LA is a co-sponsor of this event.
