Preschool Dual Language Learners: ENGLISH AT THE BEGINNING
As you know, the preschool years are closely associated with language development, and for many of the children in our local family literacy and school readiness programs, the majority are dual language learners. In order to better understand how to support children learning a second language in the classroom, the First 5 LA-funded Family Literacy Support Network is offering an ECE workshop presented by Sally Durbin of Teaching at the Beginning, Inc., titled ENGLISH AT THE BEGINNING. Ms. Durbin has extensive teaching experience in early education, second language acquisition, and has presented at various universities, state and national conferences. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and holds BCLAD and Administrative Credentials.
