Home Visiting: Working with Children who are Medically Fragile

Participants will learn how to provide home-based early intervention services to families with children who are medically fragile. The importance of building a transdisciplinary collaborative team will be discussed and participants will leave with an understanding of how to help families identify their priorities, set appropriate goals for early intervention and how to successfully build their individual team. Collaboration, parent education and support, and establishing boundaries will be highlighted. We will also review strategies to take care of ourselves while providing services to these unique families.
