"Goodness of Fit” in the Foster Care System: Considering the Critical Needs of Infants and Young Children in Child Welfare
February 19, 2010
Many cultural and systemic beliefs influence how the Child Welfare System views the needs of infants and young children. These faulty belief systems underlie decisions made when these children enter the system, putting many infants and young children at high risk for severe trauma resulting from abrupt home removal, out-of home and foster care placements that provide only custodial care, and multiple changes of placements. It is critical that clinicians and service providers develop more refined skills when assessing and planning interventions for these children and families. This training will use case examples and video clips to illustrate concepts and interventions that can be integrated into immediate practice. Event date: February 19, 2010
Event time: All Day Training
This event will be held at The California Endowment 1000 N. Alameda St. Los Angeles, CA 90012
