Presented by Bergen Nelson, MD, the educational objectives of this half-day training are to encourage professionals to:
- Recognize the etiology, diagnostic criteria, and various presentations of genetic disorders (i.e., Down Syndrome, Pierre Robin Syndrome, and Cornelia de Lange Syndrome).
- Identify treatment options and prognosis of these genetic conditions.
- Describe the mental health issues commonly experienced by young children and their families with these genetic disorders.
- Apply strategies/techniques for supporting and treating young children with these genetic disorders.
