Free Training on Latino Health Advocacy

July 28, 2008

Have you ever...

  • Wanted to work with legislators to improve the health of Latino communities?
  • Wanted to voice your opinion or experience to decision makers?
  • Felt constrained by your tax status, government affiliation, or lobbying rules?
  • Wanted to be more aware of what's going on in Sacramento?

If so, the next Los Angeles Regional Network meeting is for you! We'll train participants on advocacy strategies, learn more about the differences between education and lobbying, and work on concrete actions to improve Latino health. 2008 is more important than ever - the Governor and Legislature need to close a $15 billion gap in our state's budget. We need to be at the table, advocating for the health needs of Latinos from throughout the state! Afterwards, we’ll be visiting our Los Angeles legislators to tell them how this budget will affect the health of Latinos. Visits will be prescheduled and participants will divide into teams and go straight to visits.

This event will be held at LA Care, 555 W. 5 th Street, Los Angeles

Event time: 8:30am - 11:45am

ALL are welcome, but you must RSVP and bring ID to enter the building! For more information, or to RSVP, contact Vanessa Cajina, LCHC's Regional Networks Coordinator, at vcajina@lchc.org or call (916) 448-3234.
