Dance/Movement Therapy with Young Children: Body/Sensory Regulation, Attunement and Healing

The Westside Infant-Family Network (WIN) will be hosting a Dance/Movement Therapy training at St. Joseph Center in Venice, CA with presenter Marianne Mirkin Lacoste, MA, ADTR, with additional materials by Gabrielle Kaufman, MA, ADTR, NCC.

Course Content

  • What is dance/movement therapy?
  • Individual, dyadic and whole-family approaches
  • Dance/movement therapy with children 0-5 years of age
  • Repairing the effects of trauma in young children and their families through dance/movement therapy
  • Postpartum Depression treatment and dance/movement therapy
  • Video clips to demonstrate dance/movement therapy techniques
  • Techniques in action (please wear comfortable clothing)

Who should participate?

Psychologists, social workers, marriage & family therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, dance/movement therapists, educators, childcare providers, medical personnel, case managers, foster care staff, family advocates, clinical students and parents.
