Harriette F. Williams comes to First 5 LA with more than 35 years of professional experience in various positions with the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has served in the roles of teacher, counselor, principal, Director of Instruction, and Administrator of Operations. Dr. Williams has also been an educational consultant to various organizations and school districts including Teach for America, the Association of California School Administrators, the LAUSD Intern Teacher Program, and the Southern California Network for Alternative Certification Program.

Presently, Dr. Williams serves as the Chair of the Los Angeles County Commission for Children & Families. She is also a life member of the UCLA Alumni Association, the NAACP, and National Council of Negro Women.

Dr. Williams received her Bachelor of Arts, Teaching Credentials, and Doctorate from UCLA. Dr. Williams also earned a Masters in Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.

Dr. Williams is married with two adult children.
