| Deanne Tilton is the Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (ICAN). ICAN is the largest child abuse council in the country, including the heads of 27 major City, County, State and Federal Agencies, professional experts in multiple fields, and 14 community child abuse councils. ICAN has 22 standing and ad-hoc committees which address a broad spectrum of issues related to the health and safety of children and families. ICAN Associates is a private non-profit charity comprised of corporate, community and media representatives who support the work of ICAN. In 1996, ICAN was designated the National Center on Child Fatality Review by the Federal Department of Justice and Health and Human Services. Tilton is President Emeritus of Prevent Child Abuse-California and was Chairperson of the United States Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect. She has served as a Commissioner for the California Attorney General and the U.S. Attorney General. |
