A Pomona preschool serving some 50 infants and toddlers was severely damaged in the recent earthquake and urgently needs financial assistance. It is also asking to borrow items from other preschools.

Although the Here We Grow Learning Center, located at the Lanterman Development Center on 3530 W. Pomona Blvd., was able to relocate to another site, it may be six weeks before the center's staff is allowed to get equipment and supplies from the damaged building.

Meanwhile, the preschool's biggest needs are portable crib mattresses, twin sheets, kitchen items, paper goods, food items (juices, bottled water, and snacks), snuggly infant holders, diapers, wipes and toys of all kinds.

To donate materials or find out how you can help contact Valerie Wilson, chairperson of the Here We Grow Learning Center Board of Directors at 909-720-9878.
