While many of us think of vaccinations as something just for kids, teens and adults are also encouraged to keep a regular vaccination schedule. But what if a woman gets vaccinated and then finds out she is pregnant? Or her doctor recommends a scheduled vaccination while she is pregnant? There is little evidence showing that a vaccination can cause risk to a developing fetus, but this scenario could cause anxiety for a pregnant woman. That is why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued a set of guidelines to help navigate choices when considering getting vaccinated while pregnant.
