After successfully completing six information sessions throughout L.A. County, the Community Opportunities Fund team is anxiously awaiting applications. Thanks to all who attended the sessions and expressed interest in this exciting grants program. We hope sessions helped you determine how your application might take shape. I encourage those interested in applying for a grant to use this week to polish up your letters of intent and required documentation. The final due date for the letter and documentation is next Monday, July 28th at 5 p.m. Eligibility Requirements for the funds are as follows:
Also, just a reminder that while First 5 LA will continue to fund direct services for children ages 0-5 and their families through other investments, COF grants may not be used to fund direct services. First 5 LA provides two types of COF grants: Organizational Capacity Building and Policy and Advocacy. These grants must support long-term sustainable change for L.A. County's young children and families in the following three areas: Supportive Parents and Caregivers, Good Health (including nutrition, physical activity, and oral health) and Prevention of Unintentional Injuries.
