First 5 LA believes that research provides a valuable tool in improving outcomes for children in our community by informing policy makers, researchers and practitioners about how our children learn, grow and develop.

In addition to our own research efforts, we sponsor and support projects at the local and L.A. County levels. We also follow research projects at the national level.

The Metamorphosis Project The Metamorphosis Project examines the communication infrastructure of urban communities in Los Angeles County. PHFE-WIC The WIC program collects data on WIC families through the Integrated Statewide Information System (ISIS).
