Programs
School ReadinessFirst 5 LA's School Readiness creates centers and programs that provide a wide range of services to help children get ready for school and facilitate family and community support for these efforts.
Healthy BirthsFirst 5 LA's Healthy Births program creates a network of organizations and individuals to ensure high-quality perinatal and interconception care is available to women in Los Angeles County.
Healthy KidsThe Healthy Kids program is designed to provide access to low- or no-cost health insurance for children ages 0-5 in L.A. County who are not eligible for Medi-Cal or Healthy Families.
Community-Developed InitiativesFirst 5 LA maintains a strong belief that members of individual communities are best suited to understanding the needs of their neighborhoods.
First 5 LA Parent HelplineFirst 5 LA Parent Helpline provides information, support, and assistance to expectant parents and parents/caregivers of children up to age 5 in L.A. County.
Workforce DevelopmentFirst 5 LA Workforce Development program supports providers and teachers by helping them achieve their professional goals.
Cross-Cutting ApproachesFirst 5 LA’s Cross-Cutting Approaches (CCA) focuses on strengthening and supporting formal and informal support systems that contribute to family-centered communities where young children and their families can become resilient, safe, and secure.
Early Developmental Screening and InterventionFirst 5 LA created the EDSI strategic partnership to improve early identification and intervention for young children with developmental or behavioral problems by transforming community systems in L.A. County.
