This school district administers comprehensive educational services for children in kindergarten through 12th grade and for adults in the Southeast area of Los Angeles County which includes Bellflower, Lakewood and Cerritos. The District also provides a variety of child care programs for children age 2 to 14 who live in the Bellflower Unified School District. In addition, the school district is a delegate agency for the Head Start/State Preschool program. Major program activities include Mommy & Me classes offered 5 days a week @ 3.5 hours per day, family needs assessments done at registration to provide referral services, Mommy & Me classes focus on ways for parents to Support education and preparation for school, a visitation day for all community preschoolers and parents to a kindergarten class and parent Policy Committee established to oversee School Readiness Program. |
