Home Visiting: Working with Children who are Medically FragileParticipants will learn how to provide home-based early intervention services to families with children who are medically fragile. The importance of building a transdisciplinary collaborative team will be discussed and participants will leave with an understanding of how to help families identify their priorities, set appropriate goals for early intervention and how to successfully build their individual team. Collaboration, parent education and support, and establishing boundaries will be highlighted. Preschool Dual Language Learners: ENGLISH AT THE BEGINNINGAs you know, the preschool years are closely associated with language development, and for many of the children in our local family literacy and school readiness programs, the majority are dual language learners. In order to better understand how to support children learning a second language in the classroom, the First 5 LA-funded Family Literacy Support Network is offering an ECE workshop presented by Sally Durbin of Teaching at the Beginning, Inc., titled ENGLISH AT THE BEGINNING.
